AI Redefined Welcomes New Hires, Continues Commercial & Research Expansion
As we continue to focus on building software products for human-AI collaboration, we are proud to announce that we added to our leadership team with two new hires: Jordy Berson, who joins the company as Chief Product Officer, and Matthew E. Taylor, who will serve as Research Director. These hires reflect AIR’s commitment to expanding its commercial and research footprint.
Taylor will lead AIR’s contributions to the growing body of research in AI training techniques like multi-agent reinforcement learning and human-in-the-loop learning. Taylor is Canada CIFAR AI Chair and Fellow-in-Residence at the Alberta Machine Intelligence Institute (Amii) and Associate Professor of Computing Science at the University of Alberta. Taylor is the Director of the Intelligent Robot Learning (IRL) Lab and a Principal Investigator at the Reinforcement Learning & Artificial Intelligence (RLAI) Lab, both at the University of Alberta.
Berson brings a wealth of experience from his leadership of companies like BitTorrent, where he served most recently as CEO, and earlier as COO and head of product. Prior to BitTorrent, Berson served as product lead at Check Point Software and Zone Labs where he managed consumer products with tens of millions of users, and has also worked at NASA. At AIR, Berson will lead a team building SaaS products that draw on the company’s Cogment platform to support human-machine collaboration across a range of industries.
G. Craig Vachon, the CEO of AIR, comments:
Any time a startup like AIR can recruit such rock stars as Matt and Jordy, one knows that you’ve got a compelling mission. AI Redefined’s purpose of adding contextual reasoning to address AI’s current limitations, far from being science fiction, is spot on.
Over the past year, AIR has won awards (including “Best in Open Source AI Technology,” AI TechAwards at AI DevWorld and “Grand Winner, Data and AI” at the Hello Tomorrow Global Challenge) and enhanced its Cogment platform with new layers of accessibility and effectiveness. “The arrival of Berson and Taylor marks another exciting milestone in AIR’s growth,” Vachon continues, “and reaffirms the value of AIR’s four-year advantage in tackling the increasingly popular field of human-AI collaboration.”
